Student (m/f/d) for Master Thesis – Use-Case Analysis via Simulation

The advertised position is in the Advanced Engineering department in Wuppertal. The Advanced Engineering department has several groups such as software, hardware, systems, functionalities, automated driving, etc. In particular, we are looking for a master thesis student who mainly works in the team for systems engineering of ADAS and Automated Driving, but in close cooperation with the system design and validation team.
Design driving scenarios for Autonomous Vehicles in simulation tools
Write scripts to model vehicle behaviour in the simulation tools
Extract and process data from simulations to identify parameters requested by the design team
Write scripts to parametrize driving scenarios and automate the parameters generation
Development of graphical user interfaces (GUIs) in MATLAB to support execution of the driving scenarios if specific constrains
Write scripts to extract parameters from test drives in vehicle prototypes
Software experience with tools such as MATLAB and Python
Good knowledge of C/C++
Basic knowledge of IPG Car Maker or other simulation tool
Independent and structured working method
High willingness to learn, strong commitment and flexibility
Team player willing to collaborate with international colleagues
Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
Opportunity to gain first insights into the role of System or Software Engineer
6-10 months of master thesis in the area of R&D for automated driving
Opportunity applicable only for students enrolled at a German university and have to do a Master Thesis as part of their curriculum (evidence required)
