This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment; Connection Systems business unit.
Summary (About this Position):
The Aptiv Connection Systems team has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager - Program Management Office (PMO) in Troy, MI at our Troy Technical Center. The successful candidate will lead the North America PMO including identifying and leading initiatives to drive systemic improvement in Aptiv's launch performance while ensuring compliance to Aptiv's standardized product development processes.
Your Role (i.e. Key Job Responsibilities):
Lead in the strategic development and execution of the Americas (North and South America) Connection Systems Program Management Office
Identification and analysis of systemic issues impacting launch performance – lead cross-functional team to develop and implement corrective actions
Drive systemic improvement across all product lines
Ensure process compliance across all product lines
Provide governance and oversight of Product Development Process deliverables for all product lines
Drive data accuracy to improve reporting
Identify and lead process improvement initiatives
Track and report success metrics and/or key performance indicators (KPI)
Serve as the Program Management Champion for critical customers
Collaborate & engage with customer champions across all functions
Serve as the initial escalation path for Program Management, identifying risk, developing & executing risk mitigation plans
Support Program Management teams as necessary to drive flawless execution
Gather and communicate Voice of the Customer information to drive improvements
Support all segment and corporate reporting requirements
Weekly critical program reviews
Monthly regional reviews
Monthly corporate reviews
Flawless Launch reporting
CEO & high risk Process Validation test reports
Preparepresentations, research, and communication as needed.
Manage execution and delivery of special projects as assigned
Some traveling required
Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements
Your Required Background (i.e. Must Haves):
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
3+ years of project/program management experience
Demonstrated knowledge of project management systems
Previous experience leading a project management office (PMO)
Automotive industry experience
Your Preferred Background (i.e. Nice to Haves):
Master's degree in Engineering Management or MBA
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.)
Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
Strong presence, poise and persuasiveness to establish a high level of credibility quickly
