Job Description for Engineering Budget Planner

The Engineering Budget Planner will work closely with individual engineering departments to prepare budgets and consolidate them into one overall budget, compare and reconcile actual results against budgets, forecasts and perform variance analysis to explain differences, make and track improvements.

My Role:

• Budget reporting, forecasting, budgeting preparation and analysis for multiple cost centers.

• Timely and accurately preparation of standard reports (e.g. Actual vs Forecast & Budget, A3, performance walk, run rates, reports by flow, function and expense type).

• Prepare and provide reports and presentations requiring calculations depending on leadership needs.

• Timely preparation of journal entries, accruals and assigned financial month end closing activities.

• NRE reporting, invoicing and tracking of payments; including resolution of payment issues.

• Consolidation of documents for engineering capitalization.

• Reconcile charges and services to/from EC.

• Performing other task related to team responsibilities upon supervisor’s request.

• EC IT coordinator (administrator function only)

  • Additional approver for IT passes/equipment assignment

  • Keeper of EC IT storage and inventory

  • Manage/lead and interface in the deployment of EC computer refresh

  • Manage engineering software licenses (qty, owner)

  • Coordinate w/ IT computer warranty claims

  • New Employee building accesses (i.e. USER ID, Cell Phones, Port activations request, computer assignment, etc.)

My Background:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance

4+ years’ experience on similar position

Knowledge of SAP, QAD and HFM

Strong MS Excel skills required

Strong analytical capabilities

Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and communication (written and verbal) skills

Self-starter, ability to identify issues and solve problems

Ability to work smart under pressure.

Advanced English

Preferred:

2+ years’ experience working with Engineering budgets

MS Access skills (familiarity with data query)
